
Invitation to webinar on the Pen shells & the Mediterranean Cushion Coral in Greece
A scuba divers’ love for the sea and underwater life, along with the time they spend observing them, are key motivators for their involvement in Citizen Science projects!
To highlighting the role they can play in increasing knowledge and conserving marine protected species, in the context of obSERVING NATURE project, iSea, in collaboration with PADI and iNaturalist GR, has organised a webinar on: “Pen shells and the Mediterranean Cushion Coral in Greece”.
The webinar aims to encourage scuba divers to contribute to increasing knowledge and being involved in data collection, with an emphasis on the protected species of Pen shells, Pinna nobilis and Pinna rudis, and the Mediterranean Cushion Coral, Cladocora caespitosa, and the promotion of Citizen Science so they can contribute to the conservation of marine protected species.
The webinar will take place on Thursday, June 6th, from 18:00 to 19.30, online.

The obSERVING NATURE project is part of the initiative for the conservation of iconic Mediterranean species in Greece through the alliance of 14 environmental organizations. The initiative aims to create an alliance with a significant impact on biodiversity, providing immediate benefits for species conservation and long-term survival of some of the most charismatic and ecologically important species in our country.
The project is implemented in the framework of the initiative for the iconic species of Greece, funded by WWF Greece.
