“We spread the news about the impact of marine plastic pollution”

Millions of tons of plastic waste are estimated to end up in the oceans annually. In Greece, plastic waste that ends up in aquatic ecosystems exceeds 50% of the total waste. The different sizes and chemical mixtures of plastics, combined with their dispersal ability through currents, make tackling pollution particularly complex.
The problem of plastic waste is directly linked to the consumption patterns of modern societies. Plastic production has seen significant growth in recent decades due to its advantages compared to other materials. However, now recognizing plastic pollution as one of the most significant environmental issues worldwide, recent legislations and environmental strategies support the reduction of plastics and the elimination of single-use plastics. Nevertheless, changing mindset and taking action are key subsequences for an effective battle against plastic pollution!
