ElenaISEA2025-09-09 15:08:042026-03-27 09:36:50Pick the AlienAquatic ecosystems are an integral part of human history, contributing to the survival and evolution of human communities. Our relationship with the aquatic ecosystems evolved, changing rapidly from era to era. A significant percentage of the world’s population now lives across the coast, especially in the Mediterranean and depends heavily on the ecosystem services of the ocean
By promoting the understanding of the ocean’s influence on humanity and humanity’s influence on the ocean, the so-called Ocean Literacy, iSea works with targeted stakeholders and the aim to shape active citizenship and responsible use of the ocean and its resources. In addition, we focus on the study of the interaction between the local communities across Mediterranean with the aquatic ecosystems to better understand the social factors related to conservation and management, and contribute to the development of more effective practices
