We act for cleaner seas and coasts in Aetolia-Acarnania

The protection of the marine environment and the commitment to clearer seas for all remain a constant priority. Staying true to this commitment, we continue our beach cleanup actions through the “Prosfero” project, a joint initiative by Procter & Gamble and AB Vassilopoulos, implemented by iSea. This time, within the framework of the program, a series of actions will take place in different areas of Aetoloakarnania, specifically in Messolonghi, Aitoliko, and Astakos, from April 17 to April 22. The activities will be carried out in collaboration with the local organisation Messolonghi By Locals.

The begining of the activities will be marked by a beach cleanup, followed by an informative event aimed at raising public awareness about marine pollution and the goals of the program.

Subsequently, additional beach cleanups will take place on beaches in these areas, aiming to remove marine litter from the coastline, contributing to waste reduction and the preservation of the natural beauty of the beaches.

The scheduled activities are as follows:

  • Beach cleanup at the beach near the Statue in Aitoliko, below the monument of Frank Abney Hastings (38.433171, 21.352521), on April 17, 2026, from 10:00 to 12:00
  • Informative event on the pedestrian street outside Experience Messolonghi By Locals at 9 Ath. Razikotsika Street, on April 18, 2026, from 18:00 to 20:00
  • Beach cleanup at Tourlida Beach (38.325582, 21.416952) on April 20, 2026, from 10:00 to 12:00
  • Beach cleanup at the Agia Triada mud baths in the Kleisova lagoon (38.347618, 21.429337), on April 21, 2026, from 10:00 to 12:00
  • Beach cleanup at Astakos Beach (38.535119, 21.087186), on April 22, 2026, from 10:00 to 12:00

From May 2018 to today, 322 cleanups have been carried out, including 175 beach cleanups and 147 underwater cleanups, during which more than 96 tons of waste have been collected and removed, with the valuable contributions of volunteers and divers. In this effort, 23 informative events have also been organised, raising awareness among more than 6,000 citizens about marine pollution and marine litter in our country, as well as best practices for waste prevention and reduction in everyday life.

We would be delighted to have you attend the activities, contributing to the care of your local environment and highlighting the importance of active participation in the protection of the marine ecosystem.
