Edremit Bay is located in the northern Aegean Sea off the coast of Turkey.

The Northern coast of the bay is bordered by high mountain ranges and the southern coasts exhibit an insular coastal topography. The area is characterised by a narrow continental shelf on the northern part and wider shelf on the southern part of the bay, with depths increasing quickly on the western side.
