European elections 2024: 5 years of the European Green Deal & the expected critical environmental challenges

Citizens’ participation in the upcoming European elections is vital for the environment, since future decisions will determine the future of the European Green Deal.In the context of the discussion “European elections 2024: 5 years of the European Green Deal & the expected critical environmental challenges for the next term”, the developments of the European Green Deal were reviewed, and the situation that will determine the future targets and challenges faced was also presented.

The European Green Deal and its aims remained resilient in the face of major crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the energy crisis and Russia’s attack against Ukraine, but the agenda for the upcoming years should include major legislative changes and additional measures and policies aimed at its effective implementation!
