Vasilis Minasidis

Vasilis is an alumnus (B.Sc.) of the Dpt. of Fisheries Technology and Aquaculture of the Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Western Greece (2021). He is attending the Postgraduate Program (MSc, 3 semesters) of the Department of Animal Production, Fisheries and Aquaculture of the University of Patras, Greece (field of Sustainable Fisheries).

As an undergraduate student, he has acquired theoretical and laboratory knowledge in the Marine Sciences sector, such as Fisheries Biology and Management, Aquaculture and Biological Oceanography. His research interests focus on the scientific research of biology, ecology and fishery management of Elasmobranchs and Invasive species in Greece, through the recording and evaluation of fishery and biological data, as well as his participation in field fisheries surveys and aquatic ecosystems’ conservation activities. At the end of his 1st BSc year, he worked as an unskilled staff of the fish farm company SELONDA S.A. for two months. In October 2021, he completed his six-month Internship at the iSea Environmental Organization, involvement mostly on Elasmobranchs and Invasive species monitoring in the Hellenic Seas. He’s now working as an Assistant Project Manager. 

He holds a European First Aid Diploma from the Hellenic Red Cross, certified by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance. He has conductive interactive courses on Large Marine Ecosystems (LME’s) from the University of Cape Town and «Citizen Science Projects » mode of operation, from the University of Dundee. He is a student member of the European Aquaculture Society.
