PRESS RELEASE

We act for cleaner seas and coasts in Korinthiakos Gulf

Once again, we continue to offer cleaner seas and coasts through the “Prosfero” program, which this time travels to the Corinthian Gulf. The program is a joint effort of Procter & Gamble and AB Vassilopoulos, with iSea implementing, from the 14 th until the 26 th of May, a series of coastal and underwater cleanups in the area.

The launch of the activities will be marked by an informational event aimed at raising public awareness about marine pollution as well as the goals of the program. This will be followed by volunteer cleanups on beaches and ports in the area, aiming to remove aquatic waste from the coasts and seabeds.

The activities that will take place are:

  • Informational event in Corinth, at the intersection of Ethnikis Antistaseos and Pylarinou street, (939850, 22.933478), on May 14, 2026, 18:00–20:00.
  • Underwater cleanup at the port of Corinth (941381, 22.935796), on May 15  2026, 10:00 – 13:00.
  • Coastal cleanup at Xylokastro beach (081913, 22.621733), on May 18 2026, 09:00 – 11:00.
  • Underwater cleanup at the port of Xylokastro (081378, 22.623576) on May 18 2026, 12:00 – 15:00.
  • Coastal cleanup at Loutraki beach (976774, 22.976569), on May 19 2026, 09:00 – 11:00.
  • Underwater cleanup at the Loutraki fishing shelter (978725, 22.975391), on May 19 2026, 12:00 – 15:00.
  • Coastal cleanup at the beach below Psaron Square in Aigio (254562, 22.076810), on May 20 2026, 10:00 – 12:00.
  • Informational event in Aigio at Agia Lavra Square (251139, 22.088806), on May 20 2026,  18:00-20:00.
  • Coastal cleanup at Alyki Aigiou beach (262728, 22.104078) on May 21 2026,  10:00 – 12:00.
  • Coastal cleanup at the beach below Rio Fortress (312737, 21.779972), on May 22  2026,  10:00 – 12:00.
  • Coastal cleanup at Kalafatis beach in Galaxidi (385283, 22.377148), on May 25 2026,  09:00 – 11:00.
  • Coastal cleanup in Antikyra (374513, 22.627995), on May 26 2026, 09:00 – 11:00.
  • Underwater cleanup at the port of Itea (434733, 22.418163) on May 26 2026, 12:00 – 15:00.

Since May 2018 until today, 326 cleanups have been carried out, more specifically 179 coastal and 147 underwater, during which more than 97 tons of waste have been collected and removed, with the valuable participation of volunteers and divers. In this effort, 24 informational events have been held, informing more than 6,200 citizens about marine pollution and aquatic waste issues in our country, as well as best practices for prevention and reduction of waste in daily life.
