a collaborator the organisation ethelon and the participation of the Environmental Team of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Β.Α.Τ. – Bio Auth Team, Hikers Thessaloniki, Origen.gr, the team «Tην πόλη μου ΕΓΩ την φτιάχνω όμορφη. ΚΑΙ ΤΗ ΖΩΗ ΜΟΥ!!» and «νοια-ΖΩ- μαι για την πόλη μου και για τους άλλους» and also with local residents, we carried out a coastal cleanup in the Nautical Club of Thessaloniki and collected 440 kg of litter. During recent years, exploration and extraction of hydrocarbons have been permitted to oil companies in the Ionian and Cretan seas. This region coincides largely with the western and southern Greek Trench, which is a habitat of global ecological significance for marine biodiversity. Α new global study on the public attitude towards cetaceans (dolphins and whales) has just been published. The aim of the research was to study the perceptions as well as the impact of culture and history on the way the public perceives cetaceans, with a particular emphasis on the comparison between countries that continue whaling and dolphin hunting and those against those practises.

Aiming at raising awareness against plastic debris and microplastics in the Greek seas, in the context of #zeroplastic, iSea carried out 2 informative events on April 5th and 6th in Corfu Town and also in the environmental centre of Corfu in Alykes Leukimmis. Tunisia 8 April 2019
A new unfortunate incident took place this weekend in Port De Peche Kelibia, Tunisia, where nine Giant devil rays (Mobula mobular) were landed.
